SwitchPilot ("we", "us", "our") provides a free energy comparison service for UK domestic customers. We show you energy tariffs from multiple suppliers so you can compare deals and find one that suits you.
By using our website, comparison tools, or signing up for our service, you agree to these Terms of Service.
Our service includes:
Our website chatbot and WhatsApp chatbot are powered by an AI model (Anthropic's Claude). Replies are generated automatically and may occasionally be inaccurate or out of date. The chatbot is for general guidance only and does not constitute financial, legal, or regulated energy advice. Always check key facts (such as a tariff's current unit rate or standing charge) on the supplier's own website before switching. Please do not share sensitive personal data (such as bank details, full account numbers, or passwords) with the chatbot. By using the chatbot, you acknowledge that your messages will be processed by Anthropic to generate a reply, and (for WhatsApp) routed via Twilio and WhatsApp - see our Privacy Policy for details.
SwitchPilot is free for you to use. We earn a referral commission from energy suppliers we have a paid partnership with, payable when a user switches to that supplier through a link on our site. This does not change the price you pay.
Current paid partnerships: EDF Energy. Where a link on our site is part of this partnership it is clearly labelled "Affiliate" near the link and carries the standard rel="sponsored nofollow" attributes in the underlying HTML, in line with Google's disclosure guidance. We may add or remove partnerships from time to time and will keep this section up to date.
Commercial relationships do not influence the order in which deals are displayed. Tariffs are ranked on the SwitchPilot Score (see section 7) - a composite of price, supplier quality, complaints record, certainty and exit terms. A supplier cannot pay for a higher ranking, and we score affiliated and non-affiliated suppliers on identical criteria.
We are an introducer, not an agent: we provide a comparison and pass you to the supplier of your choice, but the supply contract is between you and that supplier.
By using our service, you confirm that:
Under Ofgem regulations, you have a 14-day cooling-off period after a switch is initiated during which you can cancel without penalty. If you wish to cancel, contact the new supplier directly.
Every deal shown on our tariff tracker carries a SwitchPilot Score out of 100. The score is composed of:
Where public data is missing for a factor (for example, a supplier too new to have a Citizens Advice rating), that factor contributes zero to the supplier's score. We do not redistribute the missing weight onto the other factors - this means a supplier with incomplete public data cannot reach 100, and opacity is reflected in the score itself. No supplier can pay for a higher ranking; the score is independently calculated from the inputs above.
SwitchPilot does not offer cashback, switching bonuses or other cash incentives. Although we have paid referral partnerships with certain suppliers (see section 3), those partnerships do not influence how a deal is scored or where it appears in our ranking.
We handle your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using our service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.
While we take reasonable care to ensure that our tariff comparisons are accurate and up to date, we do not warrant that our recommendations will result in savings. Energy prices fluctuate and your actual costs will depend on your usage.
We are not liable for any acts or omissions of your energy supplier, including but not limited to billing errors, supply interruptions, or changes to tariff rates after your switch.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
If you are unhappy with our service, please contact us at team@switch-pilot.com. We will aim to resolve your complaint within 14 days. If you remain dissatisfied, you may contact Citizens Advice on 0808 223 1133 for further guidance.
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on our website with an updated date. Continued use of our service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
