1. About Our Service

SwitchPilot ("we", "us", "our") provides a free energy comparison service for UK domestic customers. We show you energy tariffs from multiple suppliers so you can compare deals and find one that suits you.

By using our website, comparison tools, or signing up for our service, you agree to these Terms of Service.

2. What We Do

Our service includes:

• Comparing available energy tariffs based on your location, fuel type, and estimated usage
• Showing you deals that could save you money compared to the Ofgem price cap
• Providing direct links to supplier websites so you can review full tariff details and complete a switch
• Paying you £5 cashback when you switch through us (see Section 7)
• Free tools including an energy bill calculator and AI bill scanner
• Energy market news and guides through SwitchInsights
• An AI-powered support chatbot, available on our website and via our WhatsApp business number

AI Chatbot Use

Our website chatbot and WhatsApp chatbot are powered by an AI model (Anthropic's Claude). Replies are generated automatically and may occasionally be inaccurate or out of date. The chatbot is for general guidance only and does not constitute financial, legal, or regulated energy advice. Always check key facts (such as a tariff's current unit rate or standing charge) on the supplier's own website before switching. Please do not share sensitive personal data (such as bank details, full account numbers, or passwords) with the chatbot. By using the chatbot, you acknowledge that your messages will be processed by Anthropic to generate a reply, and (for WhatsApp) routed via Twilio and WhatsApp - see our Privacy Policy for details.

3. How We Earn

SwitchPilot is currently free to use. We intend to earn through referral relationships with energy suppliers in future. When those relationships are in place, we will update these terms accordingly.

Commercial relationships do not and will not influence the order in which deals are displayed. Tariffs are ranked on a composite score based on price, supplier quality, and tariff terms.

4. What We Do Not Do

• We do not supply energy. Your energy supply contract is between you and your chosen energy supplier.
• We do not provide financial advice. Our tariff comparisons are based on publicly available pricing and your stated usage. You should satisfy yourself that any tariff is suitable for your needs before switching.
• We do not guarantee savings. Estimated savings are based on the information you provide and current market rates, which may change. Actual savings depend on your real usage.
• We do not process payments or collect bank details. Your direct debit and account setup happen directly with your chosen supplier. SwitchPilot will never ask for your sort code, account number, or card details.
• We do not switch you automatically. You choose the deal and complete the switch on the supplier's own website. We facilitate the comparison, not the switch itself.

5. Your Responsibilities

By using our service, you confirm that:

• You are the account holder (or authorised to act on their behalf) for the energy supply at the property in question
• Any information you provide (postcode, usage, email) is accurate and complete
• You understand that once a switch is initiated with a supplier, it is subject to that supplier's terms and conditions
• You understand that some tariffs may include early exit fees if you leave before the contract end date

6. Cooling-Off Period

Under Ofgem regulations, you have a 14-day cooling-off period after a switch is initiated during which you can cancel without penalty. If you wish to cancel, contact the new supplier directly.

7. Cashback

Cashback is available when you switch through SwitchPilot.

Cashback structure:

• £5 post-switch cashback - paid once your switch is confirmed as completed

Cashback terms: Cashback is not payable if the switch is cancelled during the cooling-off period or fails to complete. Only one cashback payment per household per switch. Cashback is paid once the supplier has confirmed the switch has gone live. We will confirm the payout method with you at the point of payment. Cashback amounts may change - any change applies only to switches initiated after the updated terms are published.

SwitchPilot offers eligible users cashback when they switch energy supplier using our site. The cashback is paid by SwitchPilot as a thank-you for using our service. It is not a discount, refund, or rebate from any energy supplier, and SwitchPilot is not acting on behalf of any named supplier when paying cashback.

How to claim:

• Email team@switch-pilot.com with a genuine screenshot of your switch confirmation from your new energy supplier
• The email address you send from must match the email address on your SwitchPilot account
• Claims must be submitted within 60 days of your switch completing

Eligibility:

• You must have used SwitchPilot to compare and initiate your switch
• One cashback payment per household per switch
• Your switch must be verified on our system - we must have a record of your switch being initiated through SwitchPilot
• The screenshot must be a genuine, unaltered confirmation from your new energy supplier showing evidence of a completed switch

Verification:

All cashback claims are subject to verification. We cross-check the details in your screenshot against our own records to confirm that the switch was initiated through SwitchPilot. Cashback is only paid once verification is complete.

Payment:

• Cashback is paid within 7 days of proof being verified and accepted
• Payment method will be communicated to you at the time of payment
• All payments are in pounds sterling

SwitchPilot reserves the right to:

• Refuse cashback where proof is insufficient, unclear, doctored, or appears fraudulent
• Refuse cashback where we have no record of the switch being initiated through SwitchPilot
• Refuse cashback where the claiming email does not match our records
• Refuse multiple claims from the same household
• Reclaim cashback paid in error or obtained through fraudulent means
• Amend the cashback amount or terms at any time
• Withdraw the cashback offer at any time without notice

Changes to these terms will be reflected on this page and will apply to switches initiated after the change is made.

8. Data Protection

We handle your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using our service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.

9. Limitation of Liability

While we take reasonable care to ensure that our tariff comparisons are accurate and up to date, we do not warrant that our recommendations will result in savings. Energy prices fluctuate and your actual costs will depend on your usage.

We are not liable for any acts or omissions of your energy supplier, including but not limited to billing errors, supply interruptions, or changes to tariff rates after your switch.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Complaints

If you are unhappy with our service, please contact us at team@switch-pilot.com. We will aim to resolve your complaint within 14 days. If you remain dissatisfied, you may contact Citizens Advice on 0808 223 1133 for further guidance.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on our website with an updated date. Continued use of our service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
